Deities of greyhawk

Thinking of bringing a Cleric, Paladin, Druid or devoted Monk to your LoG playthroughs? Then perhaps it’s worth looking into all the various deities worshiped in the Central Flanaess! While not a comprehensive list of all the gods (believe us there are many!) here is a select few of the major and minor patrons one might see paid veneration in and around the Free City!

Greater Deities

Pelor the Radiant Sun

Pelorians hope to perform so many good acts of charity and self sacrifice that they simply burn and blind evil under a sun of radiant forceful energy.

Boccob the Uncaring

Do you belive MAGIC is the most important and valuable unrenewable force in the cosmos, and that balance should be preserved? Then the Archmage of the gods may be for you.

Rao the Mediator

“Peace through Strength of Words and Weight of Reason” is the Herald of Rao’s way. A tranquil group of mediating clerics, they also understand peace must often be enforced and do not hold back using fists and brains to ensure it.

Istus, Weaver of Our Fate

Istus believers are often seen as cynical for they believe life to be written into a pattern of interweaving threads that can never be altered, but those with skills to perceive how the threads are linked can move within the weave.

Beory the Heart of Oerth

Beory is the Oerth Mother is considered to be a manifestation of the Oerth itself. She loves the planet unconditionally and will always protect it. Preservation of the planet will keep Beory pleased – lest you feel the full wrath of nature

Lesser Deities

Ehlonna of the Forests

Goddess of all those that dwell in the forest – groves that pay tribute to her often attract unicorns. A good ranger or druid would know to never to take from her land for selfish gain.

Fharlanghn, the Dweller on the Horizon

Those that long for adventure and to learn new things, favor the wanderer – they follow where the wind may take them looking for life’s next crossroad.

Heironeous the Invincible

No mountain is too high for a trial to conquer by a follower of Heironeous. One should always act with honor and chivalry even in the face of the fiercest challenges to uphold justice.

Cuthbert of the Cudgel

Once said to be a common mortal made into a god. He hates evil and seeks to beat it back into from whence it came with a swift action. He remains a patron to many a common folk who prefers clean living and sensibility

Trithereon the Summoner

A god committed to individuality and liberty, each mortal should choose their own place in the world. All those that oppress that right should be overthrown

Zilchus the Guildmaster

Sometimes it’s all about the ART of the HONEST DEAL. Popular with merchants in the free city. He teaches mortal desires of profit and power should be tamed so that they are easily exploited in your competition.

We encourage you to look deeper into the lore of these and other unique deities when shaping your character! How will they interpret the teaching of these faiths and what sort of spiritual awakening will you be bringing to the good people of Greyhawk?
